Liver Function Test (LFT)

The Liver Function Test (LFT) is a group of blood tests used to assess the health and function of the liver. It measures levels of enzymes, proteins, and substances that the liver produces or processes, including alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), bilirubin, and albumin. Abnormal levels of these substances can indicate liver damage or disease, such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, or liver cancer. The LFT is commonly used to monitor liver health, diagnose liver conditions, and evaluate the effects of medications or treatments on the liver.
