Lipid Profile – Extended

The Extended Lipid Profile is a more comprehensive version of the standard lipid profile, providing a detailed analysis of blood lipids. In addition to measuring total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, the extended profile often includes additional tests such as lipoprotein(a), apolipoprotein A1 and B, and sometimes other markers like small dense LDL particles or oxidized LDL. These additional tests offer a deeper insight into an individual’s cardiovascular risk, especially in cases of metabolic disorders, familial hyperlipidemia, or unexplained heart disease.
