HANGING DROP FOR V.CHOLERAE
₹300.00
Hanging Drop for V. Cholerae is a diagnostic test used to detect the presence of Vibrio cholerae , the bacterium responsible for cholera .
In this test, a sample (usually from stool or rectal swab) is placed on a microscope slide, and a coverslip is added without sealing the edges. The slide is inverted so that the drop hangs beneath the coverslip, allowing observation of the bacteria’s characteristic motility . Vibrio cholerae exhibits a distinctive “darting” or “shooting star” movement due to its flagella, which helps differentiate it from other bacteria.
This test is commonly used for rapid identification of cholera in suspected cases, aiding in prompt diagnosis and treatment.
