FIBRINOGEN
₹1,500.00
Fibrinogen is a protein produced by the liver that plays a critical role in blood clotting. When a blood vessel is injured, fibrinogen is converted into fibrin, which forms a mesh that helps stop bleeding by creating a blood clot.
The Fibrinogen test measures the level of fibrinogen in the blood. It is used to assess the body’s ability to form clots and is often ordered in cases of unexplained bleeding or clotting, to monitor conditions like liver disease, or to assess the risk of excessive clotting (such as in deep vein thrombosis or heart attack). Elevated fibrinogen levels can indicate inflammation, infection, or an increased risk of thrombosis, while low levels can suggest bleeding disorders or liver disease.
