The Kidney Function Test, also known as Renal Function Test (KFT/RFT), is a diagnostic blood and urine panel that assesses the health and functionality of the kidneys. It typically includes key parameters such as serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), uric acid, electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride), and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). This test helps identify kidney diseases, monitor chronic kidney conditions, and evaluate the kidneys’ ability to filter waste and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance in the body.
