Stool pH
This test measures the acidity or alkalinity of a stool sample. Stool pH can provide insights into digestive health, as abnormal pH levels may indicate malabsorption issues, such as lactose intolerance or carbohydrate malabsorption. A lower (more acidic) stool pH is often seen in conditions where undigested sugars or fats are present in the intestines, while a higher (more alkaline) pH may indicate a bacterial infection or other gastrointestinal disorders.
